My mission as a breeder is to produce old-fashioned Morgans with sturdy, correct conformation, willing minds, and athletic ability for any discipline, using the best of Whippoorwill, Brunk, and Western Working bloodlines.
|
Grapevine Morgans began as a little girl's dream. Over the years, it took shape with support from my parents and encouragement from my grandmother, who taught me natural horsemanship long before it became a commercial phenomenon. Her little rescue mare, Flick, was my introduction to Morgans.

My first Morgan really started it all - - he was a "do-everything" horse, beautifully bred from foundation bloodlines, and was my best friend. He taught me what was possible between a horse and rider. Together we did everything from dressage to barrel racing. We must have ridden a thousand miles of trails, much of it bareback. He forgave my mistakes and suffered my good intentions with grace and goodwill. As long as I had a carrot in my back pocket, all was well. He died in 1982, and I miss him every day. This farm and these horses are my tribute to him.

I also owe a debt of thanks to my son Danny, who caught me wistfully window shopping for Morgans -- I was looking at MVR Midnight Prophet, who was still a very special fuzzy foal, and Danny said "Mom, I know how much you want this, just buy him". So I did. He was the beginning, and here we are. I am grateful every day for the chance to do this, and to the people who have helped me along the way, particularly Ina Ish, who has been a wonderful sounding board, mentor, co-conspirator, and friend.

All glory for anything that happens here goes to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ: "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." John 15:5 This farm rests literally and figuratively at the foot of the Cross.
